Started as Kilnflat ? (as early as 1810?), Glenburry , Glenburgie after 1878. There is no real evidence that the distillery existed until 1829. Closed 1867 (70?)-78. In 1885 it had six washbacks, 2430 gallons each. Two small pot stills, 1,500 gallons and 800 gallons. Closed 1927-35. Two Lomond stills gets installed 1958 and floor-malting ends. The Lomond stills are replaced with conventional pot stills 1981. Now four pot stills total. Mothballed 2000. Gets demolished and totally rebuilt 2003-04. Opens again Jan 2005 with six pot stills. Four of them from the old distillery. Uses 12 tonnes stainless steel full-lauter mash tun.
Glenburgie (SMWS 71). Glencraig (SMWS 104) a smokey malt distilled in Lomond stills.
