Lyne of Ruthrie (1) 1826-1829 was NOT Benrinnes. Location was White House Farm, Aberlour area. A flood destroys the distillery 1829.
Lyne of Ruthrie (2) started 1835. Changed the name to Benrinnes 1838.
The old Lyne of Ruthrie (1) lay several kilometres away. Burnt 1896. Major renovations was needed. Completely rebuilt 1955-56. A Saladin-box replaced the floor-malting 1964. Expands from three to six pot stills 1966. The Saladin-box stops 1984. After c2007 only four pot stills in use. So no more partial triple distilling?.
